Przychodnia - reportaż społeczny

Primary care clinic

Poland first!

The course of history in the film is based on journalistic, factual records of events and their description in news and press reports, advancing the plot of the film along a narrative line: from the selection of Karol Nawrocki as an independent candidate supported by Law and Justice Party, to the moment when the National Electoral Commission announced his victory in the second round of the elections. The film ends with a universal message expressed by the characters recalling
that difficult and beautiful time.

This film is an attempt to capture the atmosphere in Poland in the first days
after the death of John Paul II. It is a time when the country came to a standstill, immersed in mourning, solidarity and prayer. Through the subjective views
of Poles, journalists and unique archival footage, the film evokes memories
of April 2005, showing how those moments united the nation. It is a story
of the pope’s impact on our identity and spiritual transformation that stirs emotions and reminds us of the power of community and goodness.

One Crime Story

The poignant story of the Ulma family, who sacrificed their lives in an attempt
to save the lives of two Jewish families. The unimaginable crime committed
by the Germans on 24 March 1944 is the starting point for the director’s investigation of the case. Its results are shocking… ‘One crime story’ is not only
a brilliantly realised documentary that holds the viewer’s attention from the first to the last minute. It is also a missionary film in the service of truth, adding
the missing elements of the history of the Ulma family, which no one has looked into so far.

Justice

For several years now, a significant public discussion has been sweeping through our country concerning war reparations. The film touches on issues that are important in terms of Poland’s history, but above all contemporary problems. They have and will have consequences in international relations, as they affect not only Poland, but also Germany, Israel, the USA and the European Union.

Mistreated – a tale about Poles and Jews

How are Poles perceived in Israel? Where have the debates about restitution
of Jewish non-heritance property come from? Does Bill 447, passed by the US Senate, pave the way for political pressure on Poland to regulate compensation
to Holocaust victims? Does one nation afflicted by the tragedy of war have a moral and legitimate right to demand multi-billion dollar compensation from another nation also afflicted by World War II? And is it not the case that – despite heated debates – there is more that unites Poles and Jews than parts them?

City extinguishment

The capital of Lesser Poland, like a number of cities around the world,
was struggling to cope with the problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic. There was a complete collapse of earlier existence. The filmmakers tell the story of disappearing social ties, the changing character of the city and the economic impact of the pandemic.

Belsat. Mission Freedom

The director of the film was involved in the creation and launch of the Belarusian TV station Belsat fifteen years ago. The director visits the station on the day when Daria Chulcova, a journalist who was convicted for documenting street protests,
is due to appear at the TV station’s headquarters in Warsaw after serving a two-year prison sentence. This was the first prison sentence for journalists in Belarus after 2020. Daria decided to give a quick interview . This conversation,
this meeting with the director became the starting point for a journey into
the depths of human fate, the fate of journalists working for the station.

Europe of conflicts

The film depicts conflicts between various non-indigenous European ethnic groups. According to Europol reports, for years so-called ethno-nationalist terrorism has been dominated by groups of non-European origin. Often strangers are perceived as an ethnic monolith. Especially immigrants and refugees
from Muslim areas.

Lithuania – In the shadow of the tower

A documentary depicting Lithuania’s journey to independence. The main idea
of the film is to show the events that occurred more than 30 years ago
in the context of the whole region and the significance they had not only
for Lithuania itself, but also for its neighbours and the countries of the former Soviet Union. One of the objectives of the film is also to show the international political process that took place during this period.

Hungary
– the Hidden Flame

This film is a journey through Central Europe in search of the voice
of the Hungarian minority, which, as a result of the 1920 Treaty of Trianon, found itself within the borders of present-day Slovakia, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine. The fate of the Hungarian minority is a topic that continues to cause tension throughout the region. Hungary accuses its four neighbours of pushing
an aggressive assimilation policy and of repressing ethnic Hungarians. The aim
of the film is to try to narrate and make sense of the smouldering conflicts around them.
